Maisarah Sani, the visionary behind Be Calm Brownies, is a passionate entrepreneur on a mission to bring the ancient healing powers of Ashwagandha to the world through delicious, functional treats. With a diverse background spanning construction, food manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, Maisarah brings a unique blend of expertise and innovation to the wellness food industry. After a successful career as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in the UK, Maisarah returned to Malaysia and joined the family food business, D-Gateaux, in 2010. As General Manager and Board Director, she spearheaded the company's growth, tripling its output capacity through strategic R&D and international partnerships. Maisarah's entrepreneurial spirit led her to found Deja Vuu, a line of premium, ready-to-eat cakes and pastries. The brand's success in Malaysia and beyond fueled her desire to create functional foods that not only delight the senses but also nourish the body and mind. It was during this time that Maisarah discovered the ancient Ayurvedic herb Ashwagandha and its remarkable ability to reduce stress and promote calm. Inspired by its potential, she set out to create a delectable treat that would make the benefits of Ashwagandha accessible to everyone. Thus, Be Calm Brownies were born – bite-sized wonders infused with the soothing essence of Ashwagandha, organic coconut sugar, and nourishing soy protein.
