Maisarah Sani, the visionary behind BeCalm Malaysia, is a passionate entrepreneur on a mission to bring the ancient healing powers of Ashwagandha to the world through delicious, functional treats. With a diverse background spanning expertise in construction management, food manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, Maisarah brings a unique blend of discipline and innovation to the wellness food industry. After a successful career as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in the UK from 2006-2010, Maisarah returned to Malaysia after a stressful diagnosis of a tumour in her brain which then led to a state of clinical depression. Suffered for more than a decade with depressive emotional and physical symptoms, she joined the food business in 2010 to remain active while she was getting treatment and therapy. 12years into her recovery, she found a natural supplement that helped with her symptoms and recovery.
She is now an advocate for mental health while managing the functional food manufacturing business. As the Managing Director, a wife and mother of three children, she spearheaded her recovery, through meaningful partnerships and collaboration of associations supporting the mental health community. She believes that while it is important to seek recovery, it is also important to build a community around people going through difficult times like she did. She believes that a sense of giving to the community that is seeking recovery is a major part of a healing journey for herself.
And above it all, Maisarah believes that one must find a way to remain calm, have faith and give yourself time to heal.
